Christmas is a little under two weeks away. It is a wonderful time of year for everyone with numerous festive events, Christmas lights and decorations, carols and family get-togethers.
Mosman kicked off last week at the Twilight Christmas Markets. Every year Mosman Council hosts a free community event featuring carol singing and the angelic voices of local school children telling the Christmas story though carols and readings at the Blessing of Mosman Council’s beautiful Nativity Crib.
This Saturday the annual Carols by Candlelight at the Rotunda will be held at Balmoral Beach attended by a thousand or so….a wonderful community family event.
Festivities continue after Christmas.
Boxing Day the harbour is lined with people seeing the start of the gruelling Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. The Oriana guests this week have had the opportunity to watch some pre-race events with the super-maxis being put through their paces with races on the harbour.
The Danish Royal Family, Crown Prince Frederick, a keen sailor, and Princess Mary and have been enjoying meeting crews before spending Christmas with Princess Mary’s family in Tasmania.
Again later this week, The Oriana guests will certainly be in a prime position to watch the arrival of the Clipper Round the World Fleet at the end of their tough leg from Perth to Sydney.
…and let us not forget New Year’s Eve with its spectacular fireworks display, definitely not to be missed
