Fun Things to Do and See when Staying at The Oriana
November has kicked off with a wonderful party at the Rotunda, generously sponsored by neighbours, Ivan and Beth Hodge, who invited anyone and everyone to celebrate with them their wedding anniversary. This has been an annual event for years, held the first Sunday in November…and what a beautiful setting for a party.
It started at 11am and ran to 2pm with all homing into the provided ice creams, donuts made on the spot, sandwiches, drinks, crisps, sausage sizzle etc.
The Fire and Rescue Band, looking resplendent in their band uniforms, delighted all there with their professionalism, provided the on-going entertainment by playing a broad range of traditional band and popular music.
The band leader was multi-talented. Not only did he conduct but he played the trumpet for some items as well as vocals in others, encouraging the audience to sing along and get into the spirit of the occasion.
As a finale the band came down from the bandstand, while still playing their instruments, swaying to the music and moving amongst the crowd. |
