After a four-year break, the 2023 Festival of Mosman, will be taking place between 20-29 October with amazing things to see and do. Many of the best events are taking place just a stone-throw from The Oriana at the Balmoral Reserve, near the Rotunda.

It will be an exciting week with events and activities aimed at all ages. There will be an October Feast Night Market, a Pet’s Day Out, Dinner on the Green, Outdoor Cinema to name a few. History tours and free Organ Recitals at local churches, exhibitions and environmental activities are planned. The Mosman Art Prize exhibition, actually is showing now, but will continue until the end of October. The Mosman Art Prize is Australia’s oldest and most prestigious local government art award.

The Festival officially kicks off with an opening concert between 4pm and 8.30pm at The Rotunda, Balmoral Reserve with the Navy Band, Sea State Seven, who will perform a range of classic, rock and popular hits, along with local schools and groups. This free twilight concert is set against the stunning sunset backdrop of Balmoral Beach.

The Dinner on the Green is “a tavolo lungo” (the long table) event. Experience the magic of the authentic Italian outdoor dining in an intimate setting under the stars, olive tree branches and festoon lighting, while singing along with the Ben and Cheryl performing a range of Italian songs.

During the week, a First Nations cultural event will be held at Balmoral. The event will open with performance with Diramu Aboriginal Dance and Didgeridoo and Smoking Ceremony, followed by cultural workshops which you are invited to join, including collaborative sand painting, boomerang painting, didgeridoo and dance workshops. Delicious Indigenous bush tucker will be available for purchase.

The always popular wine festival “Hunter Valley Uncorked” is set around the Balmoral Rotunda where you can sample the best that the Hunter Valley wineries can offer while enjoying entertainment.

If your idea of a holiday is simply to just swim and relax with family and friends in a more intimate environment, then The Oriana is the perfect place to do so where you can enjoy a glass or two while taking in The Oriana’s 270-degree panorama of the beach, reserves, the harbour, Heads and beyond.
